Economic Collapse: What Are You Doing to Prepare?

With Obama and the Pelosi/Reid government bailing out everyone and now buying our own debt, I believe that our government (and maybe the world) will experience an economic collapse before the end of the year.

Unemployment is already into double digits in some states.  While they have not reached the 25% set in the Great Depression, they are heading that direction very fast.

I am hoping that our country only has to suffer the horrible economy of the Carter years, but I am preparing for worse.  I don't consider myself a "doom-and-gloom" alarmist, but I think that it is best to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

I have started food storage and just purchased some land.  I am interested in finding out how others are preparing.

Maybe you don't see the future as darkly as I see it, but what would you do if you had no income for 6-12 months?  Even 3-6 months?  Most people in today's "spend-it-like-you-mean-it" society have very little in the way of a safety net.

My grandparents lived through the Great Depression and knew how to survive.  I think that our generation is in for a "world of hurt"!

Bumping this thread. : )

I bought two acres from my sister-in-law. You don't have to have anything that large, starting a garden in your backyard is something. I guess that my point is: people need to do SOMETHING instead of just complaining.<br />

Our government is not listening. We need to make plans to take care of ourselves as best we can.
