Survivor

I had my son when I was 17. My high school prom date forced himself on me. I didn't find out until I was about three months along. My family wasn't supportive, no matter what decision I made, so I decided to go with adoption. I chose an agency that allowed me to be involved in choosing the parents. That was tens years ago this past February, I haven't seen my son since then.

I'm not saying that adoption is the way for pregnant teens, not at all. But it is AN option, and happened to be the one that worked best for me.

If anyone in this group would like to talk to someone who's been there, I'm here and willing.

what finally sold you on that option?

I'm sorry if I sound cynical or uncaring, but I don't understand why teens feels they have to go trough a pregnancy when they do not feel ready. A girl I know have been there, and she told me the nine months are almost more difficult than rising the child (she kept her child, by the way).

I admire that you gave yourself and allow the child to be here in the world. :-)
