Zombies won't even give me the time of day, and can't even get them to show themselves for more than a second or two closer than 20 yards away. I'm gonna need more of what they crave more than living flesh ... but I can't live with that either.

Nobody's useless, even if they can't fight, build, repair, heal or cook, they can still be bait, or food. As for my negotiating skills, I intend on applying a "cross me and die" policy, and also a slightly broad and arbitrary definition of what constitutes crossing me. Obey as if your life depends on it, because it does >:)

Good. I'll need a good Lieutenant when I commandeer and then blockade the local Wal Mart Super Center.

Ta ta ta, I'm not anyone's lieutenant, I'll be a pragmatic and ruthless commander.

In such a case, I will hope for you that you are a skilled negotiator with assets of value. In all honesty, I expect my first lieutenant to die as an example to those who do not immediately follow orders.

wow i thought i was the only one! my preparation is all in my head, i know what to do, where to go, how to get there and who i would recruit/save on my way . The key would be to get to an engineering/construction college in a town about 30 minutes drive away from where i live right now. We would need to gather guns from a house a couple streets up from me and a low security hunting store on the way to clear the building of zombie students. The college has all the materials needed to quickly create strong defences covering all exits and then brick them over when a temporary barricade is made. It has a back up generator and a magnetic crane that could be used to hoist cars onto the roof to fuel the generator and as a bridge to the roof of the nearby shopping centre. the engineering workshop and electronics/chemicals labs have everything i need to make ammunition, heavy weapons, explosives, armor, you name it. Remote controlled explosives would be especially useful. There is a helicopter (inside the workshop, so it will have to be dismantled and re-assembled on the roof) that can be used for evacuation when i am confident i have someone that can fly it. A plan like this almost makes me WANT there to be a zombie apocalypse lol

It might be easier to dismantle the roof. That, and You might consider making a Sally Gate large enough to allow tractor trailers (fuel trucks) in and out....

umm its a manufacturing workshop it already has a huge steel rolling door. And im in england all my machinery would be pretty ****** i removed the roof and it rained. I might consider doing things my way, I would be open to suggestion but anyone arguing against my final decision would be shot as there is no room for a liability in survival.

Tip: Don't use blades much. Blood spray from close quarters combat is far more likely to infect you than a cut. Also, humans can survive up to 18 days without food, and only like a week without any water. Water is uber important. Just a couple thoughts.

Good planning Mugi... I'll bet you're dangerous weapons aren't in the open and obvious like spiked baseball bats (so Hollywood), but more like solid curtain rods with real pointy finials welded onto the ends, or decorative wall hangings , or statues, or even something as simple as easily disassembled furniture that has heavy table legs.

My zombie preparations are all in place, and I just discovered a new toy I want for Christmas...

A Hy-Roller for my Excursion, so I can take my car onto railroad tracks.

Yeah, we're nuts, but like the girl says, at least we won't be zombie cookies

Nothing wrong with a little preparation. It is better to have a zombie wacker and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Relatively to everyone, Selvaria is in the 4% of sympathic people.

Maybe she's a bit uncultivated and do weird things, but she sounds way smarter than most people
