Posted Oct 15th, 2007 at 12:40AM yah, it seems to have gotten a bit off topic. what i was basically saying is that i just find it odd to think of the man, or woman who thought of taking a baby outside of a mothers body. this is something that back in the day, would have never even been thought about by doctors. but then i think, maybe an abortion was first thought to be helful in only dire situations, such as a woman being diagnosed with cervical cancer just as she finds out she is pregnant. then this 'abortion' technique becomes a life saver. the mother clearly couldnt under go cancer treatment while being pregnant, and the baby would be growing in a very unsafe environment and may not survive till birth. this is clearly a case where abortion is a good thing. but of course there are those 'oops i did it again' women who have abortions because they are now as common as plastic surgery. basically, i wonder why abortion was even made possible and i dont agree with why certain people have abortions, but i am very glad the choice is there, because in certain situations i feel it may very well be the best choice for the mother.
Posted Feb 24th, 2008 at 12:54PM i was reading some anti-choice article, and they were trying to state that no woman ever used the coathanger method. i personally don't know any that have, but try and tell that to someone who did, or knows someone who did. sounds like a bunch of antichoice propaganda to me. :/
Posted Feb 24th, 2008 at 5:04PM I remember when Abortion in this country was illegal and if you were too poor to travel to Europe, It was a back room dirty, Meaning not sterile, operation many times performed by men who weren't even licenced doctors. There was a movie about this subject back in the early 70's in it the abortion resulted in the death of the girl, it sounds a bit like the new Romanian film. Abortion has been around Forever. There was so much that I posted in MrO's comments that I don't want to sound like scratched L.P(left-ie proselytizer);P But my Great Grandmother in depression and pregnant with her 11th, someone told her she would abort if she drank kerosene,. She did and almost died, the baby did not die but was severely damaged and she ended up with 2 more for a total of 13.
