"You Don'T Look Puerto Rican."

What, you can't see it in my cheekbones, my full lips, my thick hair, my hips? You can't hear it in the way I speak when I'm angry or in love? You can't taste it in the food I eat, the sangria I drink? You can't feel it in the air when I sit down for dinner with my family?

Just because I'm not dark skinned with kinky curly hair, does not mean I'm not Puerto Rican.
