    The way it was discribed to me was that "queer" means "not straight". It CAN mean gay, but it DOES mean so much more than that...



    So you could call me queer, but I'm totally homo.

      Queer means "anti-heteronormative", and so if you're just a normal homosexual, and you fit well into the mainstream society, then you're not really queer. Generally queers are more interested in polyamory, are pansexual or asexual or have some odd gender identity or different expectations and needs from their partners that aren't so traditional.
