I realize that no one is fearless. But I think I'm about as close as a soul can get. The only two things I'm truly afraid of are tornadoes and ticks.
I live in an area that has a lot of killer tornadoes and have been barely missed a couple of times. This area also has lots and lots of ticks, so in warm weather, it's a constant worry.
The tiny, silent killers are frightening. If they don't kill you, they can still make you very sick.
But I started this story to talk about dogs. I found out a long time ago that the worst reaction to a dog is to show fear or to run.
When I was younger, I used to walk a lot. I never carried a stick or anything for dogs because they're not necessary.
On more occasions than I can easily recall, I've had dogs threaten me as I walked by their homes.
If this should ever happen to you, just remember that dogs have an inbred fear and respect for man.
The times that I was rushed, all I did was to bend over, pretend to pick up a rock (even on pavement) and **** my arm while staring at the dog.
Of all the dozens of times that dogs came at me, not a single one ignored my "rock." They tuck tail and run.
One night, a pit bull came out from behind a car and was within about 10 feet before I heard him because he wasn't growling. Just running full bore.
I did my rock trick. He literally slid to a stop, growled, looked at me and ran the other way.
I posted this just in case you ever need that advice. :)

Im terrified of dogs. If that ever happened to me i would run, I know thats not the smartest thing to do though. lol

No it's not. If you run, they chase.

I know that - Believe me. lol
