Plato In Translation

I have recently decided to try a new approach to translating that I think will help keep me motivated. At times in the past I was able to just churn out translation by having a regular, set schedule. But lately keeping that kind of schedule and being able to put other things aside has become more difficult. My new approach is to just read through that English translation and get interested in the text from a conceptual point of view. Then I will go through the translation to see what it adds to my reading or how it responds to my questions. It certainly gets me motivated and even helps with memory. The downside is that I do less total translation, but I suppose the overall effect is the most beneficial.
