Still Making Progress

Tonight Tianwa Yang played at the Eastern Music Festival. I have never seen anyone master a violin like that. I bet she could outpick Charlie Daniels. And the tone was so sweet and rich. It was like hitting the perfect 8 iron, so unbelievably high and soft and wrapped in sweet perfection from the moment of liftoff when time is suspended, until the gentle touchdown just inches from the cup.
I thought tonight would be hard because Leah and I always went to the music festival, and this would be my first time without her. The violin concerts almost always brought me to the verge of tears, so I was a little worried about this one. Its been 10 months and 3 weeks since she’s gone. Tonight on my way to pick up my date ( a sweet girl, she lost her husband a couple months after Leah passed. I met her in the grief counseling group, another good reason to do the counseling), I was listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd and George Thorogood (60 yrs old). At the time I was considering giving up classical music for dinosaur rock. But I guess I can do both. I made a donation so Leahs name could be in the program tonight. When I saw it I cried, when the orchestra started to play I cried, when Tianwa Yang came out on stage I was so happy I cried. Then I enjoyed the music.

JT, you really are a riot. I think if you strapped down your boobs you might be able to play. Its more fun than you'd think. I'll have to show you my 8 iron sometime.
