Life Is Still One Day At A Time

My wonderful spouse died in February after a long  six years of living with a severe traumatic brain injury and dementia  related to his injury.  He had no short term memory.  He became very frail often falling.  Unable to perform any tasks himself.  He was put with hospice in Aug. and died in February at home .  The last six yrs. were very difficult.  I'm so  glad I had him this long .  He was only 55.  We had only been married 8 yrs. when he died. We were best friends since I was 15 yrs. and he 19yrs.  He was the best thing that ever happened to me.  We had a wonderful marraige before his fall off our roof. His frontal lobe was totally destroyed along with one eye.  His cognitive level was of a 3-5 yr. old after the accident.. I loved him with all my heart and was his caregiver 24 hrs. a day.
