Nutrition and Health Are My Passions In Life.

I have a lot going on in my life, but the topics of nutrition, health and natural healing are my favorite.  I have spent most of my adult life studying them informally.  I have written articles for online journals and do a vast amount of research every day.

My main interest right now is in eating local and organic.  I am pretty convinced that the further your food grew from you, the less healthful it will be.

As for processing, none is best.  I am even considering a switch to all raw food.  Cooking kills nutrients in most fruits and vegetables and that includes pasteurization.

Sound crazy?  Ask me for references!  I am happy to share.

I have considered "raw" foods and eat quite a bit of naturally, organically grown raw fruits and vegetables. <br />

I am wondering; how does a "tender crisp" cooking of asparagus affect its nutritional quality??? I like to stir fry and saute MORE than boiling vegetables (leeches out nutrients). What is the BEST way to cook to maintain nutritional value of foods???

I am at the same point in life. For my overall good health and well being it is necessary for me to eat right. In a way it is a blessing that when I do eat wrong my body responds and an alarm goes off that says "Stop", no more messed up food. I am a health enthusiast and I try to help people as much as possible make healthy lifestyle changes. I can appreciate people like yourself that do the same. Thank you. Very inspirational. I will eat healthy today and add time and good health to my life.
