My Mother's Father

My grandpa was half Rom half Polish (his dad was Rom, his mom Polish). Unfortunately my grandpa's father passed away due to pneumonia when my grandpa was 6 years old so he was never really able to recall anything about him. His mother re-married and they never talked about my grandpa's dad again. I'm into genealogy so I'm trying to find out more about our history but my grandpa was born in Poland so that a bit more work due to the language barrier and the fact that I'm in the U.S.

I guess the difference would be that Polish people (at least the ones in my family) have ancestors that have been in Poland for centuries, while Romani usually live a more nomadic life and from what I've read most likely originated somewhere in Northern India.

what difference between romani and pole?
