'I Don't Get It'

I have a friend who can't for the life of him understand sarcasm. I grew up in the northeastern US where sarcasm is about as ubiquitous as confederate flags are in the south (I'll let you decide if I'm being sarcastic or not, and on what grounds). However, I have a friend who, either through naiveté or his southern upbringing has the greatest difficulty understanding sarcasm. Being the only one in the group that has that issue, the rest of us communicate fairly exclusively through sarcasm. I think we might be inadvertently damaging his psychology permanently. Although it is interesting to see him start to take action based on something that, to the rest of us, was clearly based in no semblance of reality whatsoever ("I think it would be a great idea to just throw all of our food away and re-stock the fridge from scratch").

That's hilarious! I've never known anyone who didn't understand sarcasm!
