I agree that this sort of religiosity is highly negative and undesirable, but you are inaccurate to say that all Theistic Satanists necessarily view Satan as god whose dogma must be obeyed. It is quite possible to believe in and venerate Satan as a sentient entity or force while still exalting oneself above all else and refusing to submit to the commands of any god, spirit, or man. I am a Theistic Satanist, and I will never accept any being but myself as lord and master of my life.

even theistic satanism is nothing like Christianity yes you would believe in Satan as your god as a theistic satanist but you have your own morals if you feel its right then its right if you feel its wrong then its wrong nothing like Christianity and you saying it is just shows you ignorance towards both religions

Religion are broken off segments of beliefs. It was formed because people could not be satisfied with one belief. Take the bible for instance, the holy bible has been rewritten numerous times and has been contaminated by different men, so called prophets, with their own internal contribution that served to dilute truth and support their beliefs. Originally, divorce was not an option for those who were married. But

King James' wife could not have children. So he had the bible rewritten, inserting it in the new testament that a man can divorce his wife under certain conditions. I cannot recall the passages, but I know it is there from my forced bible days when I was in my youth. Hence, that is when the King James version of the bible was created. You don't have to believe me. Research it.

I believe religion is designed to keep people in fear and in the dark. Plus, it prevent people from their own material progress on this planet.

True in some regards!Being a true Christian who does not goe to church,I have faith in the FACT not fairy tale that Jesus die on the cross for going against a very powerful system that rules to this day!!Don't try and argue as my mind is set with real knowledge on this FACT!I agree that we cannot put our trust in just any belief as it will let us down! But one must have a belief in something other than themselves. There is more to spirtualism or the state of the soul than most if anyone can ever tell us!!There are too many confusing issues to just say one opinion is right and others are wrong! What works for you does not work for me and vice versa! One thing many neglect to do is show mutual respect for ones beliefs or emotions and with that said,we as a race will never see any form of truth!I believe all of us were born into a system that was destined to implement a diabolical and master plan that dates back thousands of years and everything we see today is an example of this and there are things that will happen in the near future that will divide many and will lead to ultimate slavery!!

Fact: A thing that is indisputably the case.
Faith:Complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
One of these things is not like the other.....

HotDrumsticks, I have read enough of your Bible to see how cruel your god sounds. Using threats to get me to worship... Is that loving and merciful? No it is not. Also I would love to see some actual proof that there is just one god or that there even is an angel named Satan. To be honest, I find the Bible to be just about as informative as a fairy tale that I know for a fact is a fairy tale. I must also ask, what is this freedom of choice you speak of? "Worship me or burn for eternity!" Being threatened is not the same as having freedom of choice.

I do agree 100% with this post though. It is a bit hard to keep quiet when you see good people who are brainwashed into believing in total nonsense. And I actually was a Christian at one time and I had to discover for myself how much it contradicted itself and after all of the praying I tried and every time I turned to scripture for help, it made less and less sense. I know the doubts I had really helped me because I am now free from religious brainwashing and it feels nice to be free.

You are completly wrong, There is only one God, and Lord Jesus Christ, thats it!! Satin is just a fallen angel that God kicked out of Heaven along with some angels that chose to follow him and disobey God. All people have the freedom of choise, to believe God or to not, this info is in the Holy Bible and you can read it and understand or you can not believe and go your own way. It is very simple, Read the whole bible front to back and then decide if it is for you, some will and some won't. Good Luck in your search and have a great day.

....Satin is a fabric. I have read the Bible, NIV king James as well as the Koran and numerous other 'holy' books. In fact, for a while I wanted to be a priest. I would suggest you take your own advice and read the entire Bible front to back.

If you focus truly on what Theistic Satanism is, you're not following the "Might is Right" Concepts of LaVeyism. Theistic Satanism is something totally different my dear. It is a religion-based worship of Satan/Enki etc.

i can see your reasoning for writting this. But(at least in my case as being Gnostic-Luciferian)we do look towards him as a higher power(Laveyans and such discluded)but unlike most other religions we ask of not much.he fufills it on his own.

Yup, I'm Theistic myself here. Gnostics and Theistics are the rare ones, indeed.
LOL, seems like "ever'body" wants to be a fracking LaVeyan and follow Might is Right. (::smirk::)

I do ask a little more of Him as I see Him moreso as a Deity, and treat Him as such of course, but yeah, mostly, the initiative is for us to make our lives better with Him helping us (and, might I add, I now absolutely get ALL of my prayers answered when before nobody "heard" me, and the Results often surprise me much more pleasantly than I ever would have expected because I only ask, when I feel things are out of my hands and I can't solve **** on my own).

Satanism isn't "joined" for the power aspect.

You find power inside of you.

Yep, I'm a "newbie" and the Theistic (sp.?) approach inspires me. However, I am staunchly a very magickal Being; always have been, it totally had me living a split Life until now (ah, the "Magickal Christian"...NOT!!) hence; I'm attracted to the whole of Satanism because its Philosophies align straight-up with my own. I recently "converted" from Christianity AND am highly aware, that Blind Faith just..isn't healthy. I do appreciate your intelligent words however and I think it's a prudent Path for all to take, aligning themselves with any Faith or Religion, to approach such with an open mind, but a cautious mind, at that.

    Cheers! :)

The ritual aspects, King, are used exclusively for the working of 'magic'. They're there solely to create a separate atmosphere so the 'working' is more powerful. It allows you to better understand that while preforming the ritual you are no longer preforming a mundane act. They aren't necessary or often used by many individuals. Only those select few who deem them important for their own development . I hope that answers your question.

I cannot follow up with those two comments, mainly because I don't know heck of a lot about religion. Your story, I'll call it rant, appears to be born from passion rather than fact. Aside from that however, I agree totally and completely. Religion is ridiculously irrational. I highfive you for your putting it out there...at least someone agrees with me now. :]

Interesting post. As an atheist, I agree with the general idea. But I would add that, beliefs aside, theistic satanism is slightly less retarded than xtianity only because they don't actively proselytize. Gotta give them that.

However what I don't get about LeVeyan satanism, is if it's all about individual freedom and not being a sheep etc., what's up with the all ritual and symbolism? I mean, why not just be an atheist and arrive at your own individual truth, it just seems like they're still organized followers.

@abhivanth Proving the nonexistence of god is not the responsibility of atheism. This is how theists falsely frame the argument. Atheism really only is the acknowledgment that the present evidence suggests that a god is highly unlikely, and therefore the idea is a waste of time and energy. Not to mention all of the other problems that religion and superstition creates. Atheists don't have to prove anything, because we're not the ones making extraordinary supernatural claims.

Sorry for the late response. To be honest I mainly use the ritual settings for networking with like minded people. Also, they're kinda fun. The point (as I understand it) is that the ritual setting is designed to help you develop a mindset that you're doing something 'special' in order to create the desired effect. I always found it a bit unnecessary.

Interesting.....rudely blunt, but personally, I kind of agree with some of your points. I usually define myself as being Agnostic, since I don't really follow any religions. I don't flat out say I'm an Atheist, since it cant be proven that 'God' or other gods, etc. don't exist, but I really can't believe they DO exist without ever seeing so for myself. I don't like others telling me what to believe, and I don't tell others what they should or shouldn't believe either.

Again, sorry for the late response. I've been pretty bad at keeping track of this website lately.
The liberating thing about LaVeyan flavored Satanism is since you cant definitively say whether or not a god exists; (my moneys on not) you're free to choose your own god. Most choose to claim themselves as their god. Personally I'm partial to spiders.
