Why Fear?

I am an atheist and I do not believe in any kind of afterlife. However I could be wrong. I see it this way. There ether is, or is not any kind of consciousness after death. If there is not (as I think is the case) then being dead will be like being under general anesthetic. There will be no experiences, no awareness of time passing, nothing at all. You will no longer exist. It's difficult (but not impossible) to imagine, especially if you have never been under general anesthesia, because our memory is foggy. When we look back on our lives we can remember clearly what happened recently. Less clearly what happened many many years ago, and as we remember our early childhood we remember only fragments. But we cannot ever remember NOT existing, But there must have been a time when we didn't. If we fear not existing we are fearing the nothing. I'm not sure why a nothing should be scary. It is NOTHING!

If there is something after death then I'm wrong and God does exist. Surly that God would be an impeccably fair god. He won't care what you believed in your life. Only a huge narcissist would REQUIRE belief to be admitted to His presents. If God is that narcissistic I want nothing to do with Him. He will judge us solely and fairly on what we have done. If we deserve to go to Hell that too will be fair. We will be punished ONLY according to our sins and nothing more. We will only be punished for a period of time, never forever. Even Hitler or Stalin don't deserve to be punished forever. Sure they deserve long sentences, perhaps even trillions of years, but not forever. So as long as you have lived life the best you could there is nothing to fear in death. If you've been "good" you'll be sent to a place without pain or hardship. And even if you haven't been so good you will face justice, but eventually you will have paid in full for your crimes and be allowed into "Heaven".

I don't think there is anything at all to fear in death.

" krool1969:Surly that God would be an impeccably fair god"

If God Exists (and i believe He does) Then He would be impeccably just. Now that’s a problem if He is impeccably Perfect and Judges all who fall short of that Perfection to be unfit to exist with Him in an impeccably Perfect eternal existence.

In human thinking we measure things from a relative position. We say someone is ok if they are mostly good we assign a pass mark like 50%+ some humans have higher standards and will not dub someone with the Good title unless they pass the 80% mark. But if God is perfect He will judge people by an absolute position, Meaning if one is 100% they pass as Good, but if they are 99.99999% the fail because they are not perfect.

"krool1969:He won't care what you believed in your life. Only a huge narcissist would REQUIRE belief to be admitted to His presents."

Would He care if He revealed to His now imperfect sabotaged creation the Way He provided to gift them eternity not by being perfect but believing in what is perfect? If He had a message that if accepted made Him impeccably Justified in showing mercy and forgiving all the imperfections of His creation. that Justified Him to transform them into being perfect and thus acceptable in a perfect eternity.

What if His creation upon being offered this gift by faith refused it?

"krool1969:He will judge us solely and fairly on what we have done. If we deserve to go to Hell that too will be fair. We will be punished ONLY according to our sins and nothing more. "

But what if God has revealed that it is no longer sin of His creation that destines them to eternal banishment from His perfect existence but their refusal to believe His will and accept His gift of total redemption? Indeed if one believes in getting what one deserves then will they not also reject eternity in a perfect existence? Because when you look at it, who has done enough Good in their lives to warrant a reward of Eternal bliss in a perfect existence? So is not giving eternal life in a perfect existence also unjust? In human thinking i guess so. But we are talking about God here aren’t we.

Why does one assume that Gods thoughts are as ours?

Proverbs 14
12 12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

When I say God would be fair, I'm not saying He would judge us against his own perfection. That would be very unfair. Nor would he judge everyone to the same standard. Even our less than perfect laws allow for developmental disabilities when a person is on trial. If a 6-year-old steals a candy bar from the store that child is not held to the same standard as a 16 year old.

If God IS a perfect being, then he will know by what standard we should each be held.

God is a perfect God and if He condones evil He demonstrates He has a fault to the Heavenly Host... Don't you realize there is a great controversy in the Heavens? lucifer the fallen angel now known as satan claimed Godhood. If God is shown to compromise His Absolute Justice then satan can declare to the Angels of Heaven that God is not the Perfect God because He turns a Blind eye to sin. God has made a way to overcome the SABOTARGE that satan did to the human race via enticing them to acquire the knowledge of good and evil which causes all of us to sin and thus fall short of the absolute standard of God and thus condemns us to eternal expulsion for His Perfect Existence. Because it is Justice to have mercy upon the Repentant. Those who Believe Gods will to be good and proper. Those who believe and accept the Way that God has made for them to be forgiven. Thus we have Jesus who gave the will of God and provided the Atonement for our eternal forgiveness.

God is fair in that He does not condemn those who come to him without the Knowledge of Good and evil. Little ones who are innocent and have not come to the knowledge of good and evil have eternity with god in a Perfect Existence.

But all whom have the knowledge of good and evil have sinned and all fall short of the Absolute Measure of a Perfect God. Only 100% is a pass where Perfection is concerned. Humans who have different ways of thinking have their own Relative Measures of what is Good or what is bad. For some 50% will do for others 80% is the pass mark. But God has declared that His thinking is NOT like the thinking of men. His thoughts are higher than the thoughts of men. Mankind create volumes of philosophies based on their thinking. All of their thinking shall fall to Dust at the coming of the Day of The Lord. His will Shall be done.

Yes God is Perfect and that should cause imperfect humans to shake with terror. But God has created a Way for imperfect human beings to be Gifted Eternity in a Perfect Existence through Forgivness justly given to those who aknowledge His will to be true and good.

This is the Love of the Truth. And must be accepted and embraced for faulty beings like us to be granted Eternity with God. Rejecting the love of the Truth is a sure way to deception and delusions of the end times:: Read and Understand:

2 Thessalonians 2
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Those who reject the Love of the Truth have no hope. Those who accept the Love of the Truth will be guarded from the Antichrists end times deception.
