While Seeking...beware Of The Leaven Of The PhareeseLeaven is a MENTAL AND MORAL CORRUPTION that infect others.
In one passage he says( Luke 12:1 1In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy). In Mark 8:15 it says..( 15And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
So the leaven of the Pharisees was hypocrisy and the leaven of Herod was secularism- .( a view that religion and religious considerations should be ignored or excluded from social and political matters)
and worldliness. We know that all that is in the world is the lust of the flesh, lust of the eye and the pride of life. In the book of Matthew and Mark, you will read passages that relates worldliness with Herod's life style.
Full of anger to the point he wana kill all those boys
Why? Because he felt mislead, "stood up" and/or rejected by the three wise men...
2. Lust of the eye in Matthew (14:6 6But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod. )
3. Lust of flesh Mark 6:18 18For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
In another Passage he says Beware of the Leaven of the Pharisee and the Sadducees. Leaven here means the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. (Matthew 16:11-12 11How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? 12Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.).
Here is more Detail on the Pharisee and Sadducees
Church folk-people that is not serious about God nor living right. (When I say church folks; these are people that is in church or claim to be Christians with characteristics of hypocrisy) . A person that goes through to motions. Show and no Glow (Holy Ghost).
aritocratic- A member of a ruling class or of the nobility.
rabbinic-(Non-Christian Religions / Judaism) of or relating to the rabbis, their teachings, writings, views, language...
tradition-the handing down from generation to generation of the same customs, beliefs...
legalism-(Law) strict adherence to the law, especially the stressing of the letter of the law rather than its spirit. (the doctrine that salvation is gained through good works by one's self. Example; Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity).
Even tho, these two sects had different religions, beliefs, and/or view on some things; when truth comes or something comes to condemn life style; they will gang up to try to get rid of that odd ball which is that light that expose darkness.
Characteristics of a hypocrite or pretender or "sarcastically speaking" a church folk", or a Pharisee and Scribs.
Time to Examine Our self
1.Sneaky:look you in the face and still do the opposite. Acts 5: 33When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them. 34Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; 35And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men. 36For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought. 37After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed. 38And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: 39But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. 40And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
2.Try to cause confusion by finding ways to trip you up in your words.Luke 11:53-54 (53And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things: 54Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
3.Desire to harm you when they are condemned about something or exposed. Will not be humble about it. Mark 12 (12And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way. 13And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words).
4.Do things to be seen of men. Matthew 23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,Matthew 6:1Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
5.Throw off on people to try to make their self look good. by despising (hate=looked down upon) others.Luke 18:10: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
6.Selfish, especially with wealth. Tithes/offering seeing brother in need.( Luke 12:13-21: 13And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. 14And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? 15And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. 16And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 17And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 21So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. Luke 18:18-23: 18And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 19And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. 20Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. 21And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. 22Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. 23And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
7. Defiles others and sets a stumbling block ( Luke 11:44,52: 44Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them. 52Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.
8. They will settle for something carnal than for something holy. Church folks delivered Jesus up.( Matthew 27 1When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: 2And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. they choose a killer over Jesus. ) They envied Jesus. The Church world then is who delivered up Jesus to be killed because their evil deeds were exposed. TODAY when truth comes church folks Get's upset! (Pharisee and Sadducees, Scribes).
9.John 3:19-21:19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
10. 2 Peter 2 1But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
11. 2 Timothy 4:3-4: 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Dealing with hypocricy
Matthew 10:11-22 11And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence. 12And when ye come into an house, salute it. 13And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. 15Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. 16Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. 17But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; 18And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. 19But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 20For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. 21And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. 22And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
skip to 26-3126Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. 27What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. 28And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. 29Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Matthew 5:16 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Keep in mind that the bible says that "in a great house, there are vessels to honor and to dishonor" the bible also give refrence of the wheat and the tares growing together until the harvest, which is the end of the world. The bible also says forsake not the assembling of yourselfs together; there's a difference between gathering and assembling. Find some where that preaches and live truth; mark the perfect man. Don't let hypocrites turn you away from God's word. "The gospel of the kingdom shall be preached into all the world, and then the end shall come". All kind of stuff is being preached today. But God will never leave himself without a witness... never... The world will see it and it is coming and it is now.
What to do to get free from hypocrisy?
Matthew 5 :20 20For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
James 3:14-18 14But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 17But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. cha 4: 7-10 also
Some may need to be born again. John 3 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. You must receive the Holy Spirit of God to live this life. Throughout the book of Acts people was getting fill with the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongs, walking like Christ.
