Dance With Me

So I been playing this tune on guitar for years right ever since my ears peeped it from an Earl Klugh album I was like yes yes yes I need to play that...so I spent a while applying my chops to Earls rendition until I got happy with the results - and I've been playing this on and off for the last decade... here's the tune

So one night I'm playing this quiet bar with some friends and a lady comes up afterwards during a break and asks if we'd play it again and if she could sing the song - I was like ok lady but there are no lyrics to this song cause its an instrumental and she like corrects me and tells me this song is by a band called Orleans...I was like the consummate **** all knowing musician and said "ah no this is Earl Klugh's song from the 80's" and she just said "look let me sing it and I'll prove to you its a song by a band called Orleans from the 70's...

well we agreed, we played, she sang - she was awesome - I swallowed both my feet and apologized and now she's our lead singer in our part-time band called F.I.M (which stands for Feet In Mouth...a constant reminder that my *** is more wrong than its right ha ha ha)

Here's the original by Orleans...

since then I've been very careful where I get my facts from so I can repsond accurately to the FAQ's associated with playing music in bands...

Definitely a gift Shuga...F.I.M's has recently agreed to retire from gigs for a while though we get together every other weekend just sing and play - it keeps our hearts welled oiled with love

Nice gift she gave you. Words to a song played from your heart though your hands.

this song was a big hit over here...funny how you didn't realize there were lyrics....<br />
I find it to be a little sad, actually....to be alone on such a night yearning for someone...missing someone....guess I have been there before and know how it feels....
