Unconditional Love

"Jesus accepts you just the way you are. He never expects you to GET GOOD before you GET GOD - to the contrary, He desires for you to receive Him so He can help you in every area of your life."

I think you might have misunderstood me. Before I came to Jesus I thought I had to clean my ownself up to be accepted. I couldn't become clean enough by myself to come to Him. So I was in an impossible situation - or so I thought. Then I finally heard the truth. That was 30 years ago. God has matured me and grown me through the years. I am not the same person that I was back then. The changes in me were wrought by God not me - He gets all the credit.

I strongly disagree. According to Jesus in the bible, he does not accept everyone just the way they are..and he does WANT us to decide for ourselves to obey his commands, because if we don't, then we aren't going to get into the Kingdom of Heaven. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble....which means that he does not accept us just the way we are..he is gracious to us IF we are humble and he DOES resist the proud. Sure he desires to help us...but God doesn't aid and abet evil-doers.
