I can empathize. My extended family values marriage and having children. I don't want to have children, and I am also not married. (I'm simply not going to settle for just "someone".) The last few years, my family has drifted apart from me, because I don't have anything to contribute in their conversations. It doesn't matter how awesome my job is, or what adventures I go on...I don't have kids, and that's a negative factor for them.

I can relate on a different level. My family other then my parents looks at me like dirt since i hit a bad spot in life 2 years ago. they are all about jobs and money. Other then hello and the occasional reminder that i fvcked up in life we really have nothing to say to eachother
