Single But UnfazedI have plenty of friends and family. Not alone much, but enjoy periods of solitude too. I once took a vacation to Big Sur alone to think and mediate. Stayed at Tassajara and had a massage at Esalen. Beautiful places next to the sea. Sometimes I think it would be an interesting process to find another person who would energize my life, but I have also been around plenty of couples who are together for fear of being single their entire lives. I would rather live with and process that fear than settle into a pair of shoes that don't fit. Life as a single provides a lot of time for getting involved in areas of interest. I also realize that people that I have greatly admired in my life (e.g. Mother Theresa, Pope John Paul II, Brodsky, Warhol) were single for long periods of for their entire lives.
