I Am So Very Amazed And Grateful And Excited
As much as I love language, the optimal use of it and beauty of it, I recognize that when it comes to certain things in life that touch our core, language is completely inadequate. Words are completely meaningless in themselves and only have the power given by the spirit with which they are said, and the spirit with which they are received. Jesus stood in front of people who received absolutely nothing from Him. His words carried all the power, but the people were closed off to them. Anyway. What I would love to say, I truly can not say. There may be one, or perchance two or a few more who, by a force which I know very little of, may discern something from my very feeble efforts to express, because of an echo in their own hearts. But this attempt will be unimpressive in itself and completely inadequate. ~~ This is the thing. The world is so incredibly vast. I have been so very ignorant. I lived in a state of repression and suppression so effective, that it managed to oppress my bubbling and passionate energy for so many things, obscuring me into almost non-existence. But, by force of repeated disappointments, and the inexorable rhythm of life that would see me exit those boundaries, I now am where I am. The view is almost blinding at times, the Light shines so brightly, the hope so brilliantly. Oh that I would have seen this before, I wonder sometimes, but I do not question often or much the timing of Life. I only am thankful for this. I wish it to mean so much, not just for me, but for perhaps a few others. But it is not my call. I have found that the greatest achievements we make in life are not goals which we set for ourselves, but rather things that come upon us by the force of destiny, which we can not deny, which we can not but live for and by. ~~ This is an inspiration that doesn't come without something to trigger it. In this particular case I am inspired by the experiences and life of Luther. I refer to Luther of the 15th century. I will glean from this for as long as I live. I had a vague knowledge of him and I am sorry that I had not delved into his life more. I want to know more although perhaps I know enough for now. After all, it's not my interest to become a scholar on the matter, but to find kindred spirits, even if they lived in another century. He reminded me of the young man who was born blind and was given his sight by Jesus, but only in the sense that this kid has TREMENDOUS guts to challenge the religious authority and angering them by saying to them "I've told you several times, what, are you deaf?" basically, and they're like, "you stupid kid, you're totally a sinner and you pretend to come and TEACH US??" and they excommunicated him, which is a concept foreign to us, but this meant the poor guy was going to have a very rough go at life in a community that is forbidden to deal with him. Anyway, gutsy kid, I've always loved him. Also of David, except that instead of there being one Goliath, there were a hundred thousand Goliaths. A true lion that faced an institution so immensely powerful and corrupt that they had effectively engulfed almost the whole world, usurping an authority that did not belong to them, or, as Luther learned, to ANY MAN. How sad that humanity finds it so difficult to accept Liberty. How sad that we are prey to our compulsion to "buy" our salvation by means of things which constrict our very spirits. As Jacob Needleman puts it in a masterpiece of a statement: "... with the unfathomable newness, gentleness and power of the highest energy, the message of Love is given, and a Life is lived, a death is lived on the cross, the shattering reverberations of which are still unfolding in our world; a sacrifice is offered, a gift is given, and humanity is confronted with the grievous truth that we are unable to accept that gift...." (Needleman).
Anyway. We never know what these kinds of revelations will mean in our lives. We do not have that kind of insight into our lives. But we can be sure that, with these kinds of unlocking of old chains, is the inherent potential for lives that are transformed by the power of freedom. What is freedom? What is freedom to be used for? This is not a political, social, or even a collective question, but one that visits us in our own individual being-ness, in the chambers of our alone-ness and yet, we are never alone. ~ There was a time when Elias the prophet was going to face off lots and lots of prophets enemies of what was true and good and profitable we can say, (rather than calling them "servants of Baal" which is an obscure term), and he felt intimidated because he felt alone, but someone prayed for him, I forgot whom, that his eyes would be opened, and his eyes WERE opened, and he saw the streets full of horses and prepared soldiers....... he was not alone at all. Neither are we when we align ourselves to the higher energies in the Universe, however they may be named. If it isn't him who calls him "Lord", then who is it?? It is, He said, "he who does the will of my Father"...... whether he is aware of it or not, and preferably if he isn't so much. It is good to feel sinners because we are, it is good to feel equal to all because we are, and it is good to feel loved because we are, and it is sufficient to feel forgiven, because if we have the right spirit, we are. And this is the lay work for happiness in this life as I see it in this moment, and as I have experienced it. From this flow the other aspects and pillars of joy in our lives, from the profound knowing that we are accepted, that we are loved, and that it will remain so forever, because it is His plan and good will towards us.
Love to all........
