I Like It This Way - So Get Off My Back

Why is it that everyone always expects me to be in a relationship? It's always, "oh, do you have a new boyfriend yet?", "are you seeing anyone?", "is there no one you're interested in?"

I like being single. I know a lot of people say that because they are not single by choice, meaning that they can't find anyone who they want to be with, even though they don't actually enjoy being single. So now it's become 'wrong' to say it. Like if you say it, it actually means you do want someone, you're just failing to find them.

But why can't I enjoy being single? I want to be single. I hate having someone who is always 'there'. Always ringing me, always seeing where I am, expecting me to spend time with them. I can't be expected to be somewhere. Commitment isn't something I can handle yet.

    I know. Too much to answer to, too much to have to be responsible for, I just can't be dealing with that.

    you are soooo right! i'm single and loving it too... some steady relationship with a guy (or a girl) always means strings attached and answering questions - and i just don't need that!

    Enjoy being single. I spent most of my life happily single because I'd found no companion as companionable as solitude.

    I understand. I'm single now and I'm enjoying it more than ever. It's nice to not have someone up your *** all the time asking where you're going, or trying to arrange some kind time to spend together. Commitment is exhausting.

    Good for you dg. Stick to your guns. It shows good self esteem to be single and happy.

    When the time is right for you I'm sure you'll find someone in no time. Or probably you'll find someone and that will make it the right time.

    Same, it's like I give out some vibe that tells people I can fix all their relationship problems. I think it's their subtle way of telling me that I play the field a bit too much lol.

    I know hhow this feels. I'm the single one usually when my friends are in relationships or pursuing someone. Ironically they all come to me for advice. Lol

    I will :) and people I know just complain about their partners, so what's the point anyway lol. Plus, the last serious relationship I had put me off for a while :P

    you are the only person that should worry about being single or not.. no-one else

    perhaps they think your not getting any or something lol

    just because some of them want you to be just like them, a whole life ahead of you.. whats the rush, you enjoy it while it lasts :)
