Trust...a Two Way Street? Or One Way Lane?

First to be totally honest let me state up front I have more than one profile. I had my profile and made friends--some that I have met in real life and some that I correspond with via other networks now. Facebook, Yahoo, AIM, Skype....you get the picture. I created a second profile so I could lurk. I'll be honest there. I wanted to lurk and look and not be bothered. My other profile is still in existence. I didn't delete. I don't understand the efficacy of deleting--especially if someone plans on coming back. All your comments get deleted and the reader can't follow a thread cohesively. So...that explains my side of the street.

In my other profile I ran into some trouble. I had a flirty thing go south....WAY WAY WAY south. It happens. I should of known better, but evidently I'm a REALLY SLOW learner. Takes me a time or two, ya know?

Because of what happened to me I am very distrustful of new EP friends. Once upon a time, I would accept anyone saying anything. After my bad experience with my flirty thing--well lets just say THAT EP has several profiles. And has commented on his own stories using those profiles.

Wow, I find one profile tough to manage , and someone creating three and using that to talk to ones own self, lol ,

Doing it for lurking , snooping for a short time is understood but living multiple profiles takes a lot of effort

I used to have two on yahoo and then realised it is too much to manage , still have them but stopped going to the other one and moved the frinds to the same one , atleast those who are still active

Smiling here on the idea of multiple profiles and commenting on ones own stories , like talking to yourself in the mirror thinking its two people lol

Yup g, some people have so little excitement in their lives that they need to create crap here to get it, and others really are just mental cases!

@ceywat...never used to enter my mind either. But hey...it solved a problem at the time and its solving a problem now.

No! We are cool. I really have no problem with more than one profile. Sorts things out.

But the EPer I'm referring too actually created a second, and third identity. In at least one instance. He wrote several stories under that one name....similar to his own story. Many of his friends commented...thinking he was a new poster in need of comfort and support. HE even commented congratulating his second self. THen in a separate story under the second profile he writes a story and creates a THIRD profile...commenting again. And in my humble opinion THAT is just loopy!

So now...when I am approached by somone I am skeptical that they are who they say they are, unless they have some sort of history I can follow. And frankly since the stuff hit the fan I've been fanned by several people that I am just not sure about. Are they real or not? Or are they this poor EPer who is in need of some professional help (in my opinon!)
