My Take On the Tall Woman, Short Man Set Up

t's the same with any other obvious physical difference between two people going out-it's like walking in a spotlight. From my experience when I encountered a short guy he was also an introvert and neither of us liked that many eyes on us. We were also teenagers at the time, so in part maybe we both also imagined that many eyes on us as well.
As I've gotten older I've noticed that it's still not about vanity or being afraid of looking different. Height in this society equals masculinity in some minds.
From watching some friends I've heard that people will automatically assume that the girl wears the pants so to speak. In one or two that I heard about the guy makes up for this by being overly-dominating and would use displays of power. Things like instead of holding her hand like an equal, he would put a hand behind her neck or put two fingers at the small of her back with him behind her and walk together like that. The girl I talked to actually didn't mind that 0.o but that was her thing or whatever.
Additionally I've heard from some tall girls dating short guys that they found themselves taking charge easier. I'm not saying that the girls bossed the guys around, but they told me that they found it easier to speak their minds. If a girl isn't used to being assertive she might find that to be uncomfortable at first.
Subconsciously we also tend to respect people who are close to eye level. I'm not saying that height differences are what makes or breaks a relationship; certainly there are other factors that encourage respect in a relationship. However there really is something in being able to stand looking at a lover eye to eye.

  | Posted Jan 14th, 2009 at 1:37AM, last updated Jan 14th, 2009 at 1:38AM nicely said ariella. great analysis. i have been tall all my life and as a man it is prone to have mostly positive "advantages" as far as my hetersexual relations have gone. i have always wondered what it was like for a female of a similar height in relationships with mostly shorter men. i hear you about the eye to eye thing. once i met a girl exactly my height (6'-3") and when we looked eye to eye i remember a very powerful memeraable feeling pushing through me (it was like 15 years ago). however, i have never had a romantic relationship with anyone more than 8 inches shorter than i. anyway, keep plowing the hard soil, for your mind is a wonderful and beautiful thing ariella, and you get such amazing things to grow forth from it. +2 nods   |

 | Posted Jun 30th, 2009 at 1:34AM Ok let the short guy speak his mind :) I am 5'3 and my wife is 5'8. It would have been great if we had married someone closer to our height. My wife doesn't boss me around and I don't mark my territory either, but yes you are right people always assume that she wears the pants. It doesn't really bother us anymore, we have been married for 17 years and my wife is proud of her height and always wear heels LOL. |

If a girl Is at least an inch shorter than me it just blows my mind I LOVE tall women I even wrote a love story about a tall woman and a shorter man on the net. What I love about them is that their size brings out all the detail from lips to lashes EVERY thing a woman has only more of it! I find it heightens the whole effect. As to the whole problem of shorter men having trouble dealing with tall women that goes right back to the pathetic “protector provider” problem. The sooner we eliminate that garbage from our society the better off we will be , it has hurt and degraded enough human beings all ready and even ruined quite a few lives. |
