Many Times

when I was a kid, we lost our electricity, not due to a storm, or damage, but could not pay the bill.  We drew our water from a hand pump, heating and cooking was splitting wood and coal, light was kerosene lanterns.  Don't take this as a poor me, it was simply how it was and we dealt with it.  I learned that you did not take running water for a bath for granted, you do not take flipping a switch for light for granted, you don't take a thermostat for granted, I know what it is with out it and while I like it, I know I can live without those little amenities and do quite well
