I Am the Girlfriend, Fiance, Or Wife of a United States Marine
His deployment is completely and officially finished! He is now back in Japan for hopefully only 10 more days before he comes home on leave, but the dates are up in the air as of right now. I'm really hoping and praying that he gets to come home in 10 days because then I'll be able to see him in 13 days. I don't know how much longer I can do this, being away from him for so long and with everything going on, I just need to be able to be with him and reconnect with him so that we won't have our problems and doubts anymore.
For girls who just started their deployment, trust me, you'll get through it, I promise. It might feel like the world has slowed a 1000 miles, but you'll get through it, just KEEP YOURSELF BUSY. Seriously, that is what has gotten me through this last 7 months. Just find a buddy on here, pair up and get to know each other, support each other, just be there for each other. I will warn alot of people that when their men get back, give them some time, apparently adjusting to the "normal" world, even just on base is really hard the first day or so. I felt bad last night trying to talk to him and he didn't seem like he wanted to talk to me, but he said he was just adjusting to everything, that alot was coming at him in a very short amount of time.
I'm just so happy to know that he is safe and now I can actually talk to him when I need to, instead of when they let him. It felt so foreign to be able to text him last night, it felt like it wasn't real at all for us, that we had actually gotten through all of this on top.
