Can't Break The Cycle

Since my dad passed away two and a half years ago I have majorly struggled with food. I turned to it as a coping mechanism and since then I feel like I am addicted. I went from about 142lbs and quite athletic to 168lbs. I felt like total crap so I tried weight watchers and last about 20lbs, ran a half marathon and was feeling way better about myself. Im 5'9. Unfortunately ( I'm kicking myself now!) I didn't keep it up. I steadily gained weight until this past summer I reached my highest at 186lbs. This then I've yo yo ed around a bunch and now I'm at 172lbs. I understand im not obese, I'm just extremely unhappy with the way i look and my lack of fitness.I really want to get back to feeling confident and wearing what I want, not what I think will camouflage my chub! sometimes I just feel powerless like I'm never gonna break this cycle ! Any advice or people in the same position ?
