Too Much Ruins The Story

“Star Wars” (Episodes 4,5, and 6) had the best special effects. The current technology of special effects has gotten to the point that it overshadows and diminishes the plot and the overall effect of the movies.
I liked the HBO series “Pacific” but some of the special effects were so clear and precise that the scenes did not look realistic. Other movies with supernatural characters and all that impossible fighting are just too much or maybe there’s just too many of them.
I think I’ll just watch romantic comedies. That would make my wife happy.

Have you seen the new Superman movie, Man of steel? The CG is over the top, too much in my opinion.

No, I haven't but it is on my to do list. I'm sure I'll be disappointed though.

Hollywood doesn't make movies for us old farts any more. I do enjoy some of the mindless nonsense they come with. I could do with alittle less violence.

Most of the newer movies I've enjoyed have been animated. At least the violence isn't real and you can laugh at it.
