ccording to FactCheck:
Palin claims Alaska "produces nearly 20 percent of the U.S. domestic supply of energy." That's not true.
Alaska did produce 14 percent of all the oil from U.S. wells last year, but that's a far cry from all the "energy" produced in the U.S.
Alaska's share of domestic energy production was 3.5 percent, according to the official figures kept by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
And if by "supply" Palin meant all the energy consumed in the U.S., and not just produced here, then Alaska's production accounted for only 2.4 percent.

Does she strike you as a reincarnation of Isaac Newton or perhaps Euclid? She doesn't even know how far away Russia is, or she wouldn't have gone down in history as having made the stupidest remark ever filed in a political campaign.   |
  | Posted Jul 30th, 2009 at 7:56PM I used to hate sarah palin. Now I love her. She is a gift from god. Even if I don't believe in the same god. That's not the point. I want to see her debate with that monkey from Iran. We need the laughter. Imagine her as President. I cannot wait. |
| Posted Aug 9th, 2009 at 11:19AM Sarah Palin as President...the horror of it! I am not usually very critical but my 81 year old mother can't see past her facade either. Frankly, I thing you're both nuts. If I can tell my mother that, which I do, I can tell you. That's my opinion, I could be wrong. |
 Feeling excited | Posted Aug 12th, 2009 at 1:40AM I live in Alaska myself.......and honestly the only thing she has ever done that I appreciated was creating an energy rebate that went out to Alaskans so in addition to the permanent fund dividend, we got an addition $1,200 (we got $3,264 apiece in total last year) since the cost of gas was so rediculous. Other than that........I was pretty much stoked when she left office. I think she has just made an *** out of herself time and time again. And maybe its just me,but hearing her speak drove me nuts. If she would cave to all the pressures she faced as a governor---ethics suits and whatnot...........I HOPE she doesn't think it would be any different if she were president. If she was the first female president, it would probably be even worse. And who wants a president who would up and quit in the middle of her term? |
