Palin's Commentary After the Debate
Palin Won’t Spin for McCain
By Brian Stelter
After Barack Obama and John McCain stop talking on the debate stage Friday night, their surrogates will start spinning. But one high-profile supporter of Mr. McCain will be missing: his running mate Sarah Palin.
Spinning on behalf of the Democrats on Friday night will be Joe Biden, Mr. Obama’s running mate. He is expected to appear live on NBC, CBS, and CNN immediately following the debate, representatives of those networks said on Friday.
Ms. Palin is scheduled to be at a debate-viewing event in Philadelphia, covered by a limited group of reporters, and she is not listed by any networks as a post-debate guest. On NBC and CBS, the former Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani will be commenting on the debate performances. On CNN, the McCain campaign senior advisor Nicolle Wallace will appear.
Mr. Biden’s role as a surrogate after the debate may highlight Ms. Palin’s absence. Still in her first month on the national stage, the McCain campaign has carefully limited Ms. Palin’s interactions with reporters, making her available for one question-and-answer session with reporters and three interviews with television anchors.
David Axelrod, a chief strategist for the Obama campaign, and Steve Schmidt, a senior adviser for the McCain campaign, are also expected to make the TV rounds following the debate.
Mr. Biden may also appear on other networks. A spokeswoman for ABC said guest bookings were still subject to change. A Fox News Channel spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.

She studied sports journalism in college? Well, this is is like not being trusted to do the post-game show. In this case, I think the game truly is over.
I'm sure most of McCain's responses were prepared well ahead of time, and she could have been briefed on them. He can trust her to take charge of the country, but not debate commentary? Ye gods!

Posted Sep 27th, 2008 at 6:52PM Um, she doesn't handle reporters well at all. More importantly she just can't think on her feet. Shew was in an interview with diane sawyer, and repeated herself, word for word many times. It was very obviously scripted. There are several in the party that think se should bow out now, beofre it's too late. Unfortunately for her it is too late.
Posted Sep 29th, 2008 at 7:41AM The thought of Sarah Palin being vice president and possibly president someday is just plain scary. How can she be anti-abortion and then brag about shooting animals? (especially shooting moose from airplanes!) Animals are living beings which she obviously believes it is okay to kill. If she would end of as president, can you just imagine how she would decorate the White House? The oval office would most likely have dead animal skins adorning the walls. A vote for McCain is also a vote for Palin - you better hope McCain lives a long, healthy life.
Posted Oct 4th, 2008 at 5:53AM Sarah kicked Biden's butt?? Oh please!! She may have connected with some middle class voters with her folksy, direct talk but the woman is clearly not qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. Even a good number republicans were afraid that she'd goof in the debate. Her biggest accomplishment was not making herself look more like an idiot. Why do you think the McCain campaign is keeping such tight control on her? She's a ticking time bomb.
Posted Oct 4th, 2008 at 3:06PM, last updated Oct 5th, 2008 at 9:16AM I've watched all of the YouTube interviews with Ms. Palin, Mr. Gyp. Watched them long before reading your charming little reply. To me she looks like the same moron that she did on television, perhaps worse. I don't know what Kool-aid you're drinking, but I suspect that it might have a little vodka in it. But thank you for your interest in my viewing habits. Perhaps it led others to YouTube, where they could see a true imbecile looking wide-eyed at the camera, unable to tell Ms. Couric about something as simple as a court case other than Roe v. Wade, or even what newspapers or magazines she reads. I guess even she realized that "Fascism for Dummies" wasn't appropriate reading material to mention. Palin is John McCain's lapdog. They keep her on a tight leash. Maybe they need to buy you a longer one, as well.
