# Help From People Who Have Lost Weight

Hi, I was wondering if someone could tell me (someone who has lost weight and kept it off) what they eat daily. How much water do you drink?
For instance, this is usually what I eat on an average day:
Oatmeal, 1 cup blueberries, a couple strawberries, banana, spring salad with chicken (no dressing), slice roast beef, two cups of black tea, soup, 5 glasses of water
Note: all of the above foods are organic
Thanks for any feedback :)
PS: I am sixteen, so this diet may not resemble that of an adults', just saying

I am currently trying to lose weight:
For water, take what you weigh (in pounds) & divide it by 2.2
So, for example, if you weigh 100 pounds divided by 2.2= 45 fluid ounces of water you would need in a day just to stay hydrated, to lose weight add 16 more ounces ......so 45 ounces + 16 ounces= 61ounces of water that that a 100 pound person would need to drink in a day to keep you hydrated & lose weight (although a 100 pound person doesn't need to lose weight, just used it as an example because it was an easy number).
For myself, I need to drink roughly 100 ounces a day, so I use my 20 ounce water bottle & try to drink 20 ounces when I first get up, 40 ounces @ lunch, then 20 ounces around dinner (try not to drink within about 2 hrs of going to bed or you'll be up all night going to the bathroom! lol). Basically, I break it up into 3 separate drinking sessions because I am not the type of person that sips on a drink all day so I had to do that to make sure I got my water intake int. Also, I try to quit eating at about 6 or 7p at night.
Now for exercise, if you want to do that, they are starting to say now that interval exercises have the best benefit because it keeps your muscles guessing.....example: walk for 2 minutes, jog for 1 minute, walk for 3 minutes, jog for 2 minutes, stuff like that.
Also, I am not a nutritionist but the sample you have above looks pretty good to me :)
Good luck & God Bless :)

You might go to myfitnesspal.com and start logging your food. You might be surprised at what you eat. A friend of mine suggested I try to keep my carb/protein ratio under 2:1. I thought it would be so hard to keep track of, but their food log does all the work. If you have a smart phone, you can get their free app and scan upcs of what you eat. I have lost 20 lbs since thanksgiving. (even with gaining 6 over the holidays)

sounds like you are doing good. just try green tea. and yeah the more the water the better.
