A Long Journey Has Just Begun!

I began my weight loss on 7/26/07.  I have lost 12.8 lbs as of today. I want to be half way to my goal by Halloween and at my goal by Christmas.

It is hard to do it alone!

I read somewhere and may or may not be true that it takes 18 months for an empty fat cell to completely leave the body, so whatever it is that you are doing, keep doing it, and don't give up. There is support here for you.

Hi! I started the year 2008 with 190 pounds, by the end of 2008 I was 126 pounds. I had a pill for the last 5 months of the year and I was looking good! But once I quit the pill...I gained weight again. <br />
The point is: it's hard to do it alone! I could quit some bad habits like eating burgers every week, or pizzas every week, ...but it's so hard! Good luck ! I also started today! My plan is to lose 40-45 pounds by October and about 12 by the end of June. =)

So how is your goal coming? It's been a couple of years. I would love to get updated

I know all the hype about losing weight slowly, but the truth is we all lose weight at different speeds.<br />

For me it is not difficult to lose weight as long as I am motivated, so to stay motivated I need to see weight coming off.<br />
<br />
I read recently in the daily newspaper that experts are now saying that losing weight quickly may be better becausee people tend to stay on the diet as they are motivated by the results and do not go on to become yoyo dieters and they are most likely to keep it off.<br />

And any fat coming off is better for the overall health and wellbeing of the person.<br />
<br />
I have tried a variety of diets over the years and my favourite to dated is the body trim diet.<br />
<br />
But after a while I get bored so I then look for other type of diets so I get some variety and another one is the famous Dukan diet.<br />
<br />
My latest which I am enjoying at the moment and very inexpensive are two books I found on the net which incorproate various foods, motivation and<br />
are healthy but the important thing is you see results.<br />

I maintain my weight via variety, and the occasional spurge which I allow to only last 12 hours, so not much damage.<br />

It is hard to do it alone. My name is lillies and I have struggled with my weight all my life. I am at my heaviest I have ever been in my life, I do not even feel comfortable telling anyone my weight. Support is the key, if you don't have any know matter how hard you try you fail.
