I Am Turning 40
I had my kids really young (my son is 24 and daughter is 16). I have always looked forward to my 40s as a time where I could explore life with the freedom I lost by having my kids at such a young age.
I am coming into my own as a woman. I haven't had an easy life, but I have had a lot of blessings and I am excited about the possibilities that lay before me. I just lost 30 pounds and I haven't looked this good in years. When I tell people I am turning 40 with glee in my voice, they look at me like I am crazy and invariably ask why???? I can't believe we live in such a stupid world where people would look at the chronological age of a person as some sort of death knell for experiencing life.
Screw that....
I have never been better and when I look at myself at 20 and look at myself now, I would rather be me now ANY day of the week. Comfortable in my own skin. Lots of first hand knowledge having lived through tough times, and a understanding of my own strength.
I love it!
