I've a university degree, and over twenty years experience in my field, including some rather complicated work. I know my stuff. My last job was as a manager, with a budget in the millions. (Senior management managed to run the company right down the ****** during the current depression. Maybe if they had paid attention to some of my cost-saving suggestions...)

Now I'm working retail. I absolutely hate it. I'm making about what I made on unemployment, and am treated terrible. is this what it's all come to after all the hard work?

Yes, I'm angry.

All I can say is me too I just want too bee able to provide for my family and its said I can't do that with me having a BA ....... I'm angry too..... I think its a class warfare going on where the rich are too greedy and letting the middle class and poor get less and less

It'll be interesting to see what this selection produces.
You have a right to be angry.
I started a group here on EP called The Small Business Experience.
I hope you can join us!
I think you'll find it interesting.

I definitely understand where you are coming from. I feel like I'm starting from scratch, too, and I have two degrees. Keep your head up and know you aren't alone. ((hugs))

I'm Sorry To Her This Is Happening To You!
I'm in my late 40's, and in normal times would be at the height of my earning potential. Right now I should be saving for retirement. instead, I'm working a poorly paid retail job, like so many others.
I'm very angry about this, about the crooked bankers, stock swindlers, and our corrupt politicians that contributed to this mess.
I think it's time for the people of this nation to speak up, loudly and unmistakeably.

I can totally feel you. B/c of health issue I am also underemployed and unemployed at the moment. Seems like entrepreneurship is the way out.

I get what you're saying...I really do...I'm sort of living it myself...have a Masters Degree and currently working an entry level job...more for health issues than the economy.
Perhaps you can change from retail? In the meantime. perhaps you can do other things to help keep your spirit strong. I wish you well. :)
