I Am Unemployed
This is my statement ill be sending to unemployment, I'm terribly sorry if this isn't the correct forum for this. I'm losing a lot of sleep due to the stress from all this, been unemployed and not receiving any type of income with no luck of finding a new job. This will be my statement for my appeal coming up.
Any comments about the title would be greatly appreciated.
First of all I did not quit my job.
On the day before any of this happened Marlyn made a pizza and left it out on the counter. The customer showed up to pick her pizza and there was flies all over it. The customer complained to Amanda and she instructed her to speak with the store owner and that she was just an employee there and couldn't do anything about it. For some reason the store owner (Mr. H. Buckholz) then thought Amanda was trying to set him up?! (not sure what that was about)
Debra the store owners wife called and began to yell at Amanda due to Marlyn always calling to complian about something regarding all the employees. Amanda did end up quitting over this. Debra then asked to speak with me and she began yelling at me, she stated "I am tired of everytime I leave the damn store Marlyn has to call and tell me(Debra) about everyone doing something to her at the damn store" I will say this made me pretty angry, I was not even in the store when this happened, even the store owner stated that Marlyn had issues.
I then showed up for work at my scheduled time, and the store owner was waiting for me. He asked me if I wanted to be there, I said not really, but I am here and if I ever decided I wanted a new job I would give you my 2 week notice so you can find someone else. He then informed he had a replacement for me. I asked if I was fired, he would not answer me. I then proceeded to go to work. He stopped me and said "if you are going to stay Debra wants to speak with you" I said "that is fine, but I would really like it if she didn't yell at me again like the other night". I then started to walk away again and proceed with the day, and he stopped me again and said" I thought you didn't want to be here?" I asked again if I was fired, and again he wouldn't answer me. He did say again he had my replacement. So I asked him if he wanted me to leave and he then said "Thats up to you" so i chose to stay, So once again I started off to do my work and again he stopped me. This just kept going on and on for about 30 minutes, I wasn't sure what to do at this point so I left.
I didn't quit my job, and if as he says he didn't fire me, I would like my job back, with the same pay and hours.
If I was going to quit I would've just not showed up that day. I don't know if I handled this the right way or not.
I showed up for work, he wouldn't let me go to work, he informed he had a replacement, I really felt like that meant I was fired even though he would not answer when I asked him repeatedly, and for the last few years that I've been there it has been an extremly hostile working enviroment from racism to degrading comments to all the employees.
