Laid Off In June 2009

I worked in the Human Resources Dept of a company, and knew they were going to start doing layoffs that week. "In the Finance section" is what they told me....eventually we would have to look at our own dept, but that wont be for awhile. On Wednesday, my boss sends me an IM "MSJOE143, come here please". Oh **** is what I was thinking....when I walked in and saw my co-worker, I knew what was up. I started crying because my fiance' had been laid off in February 2009, and didn't know what the hell we were going to do. I felt like **** as I was packing my things and they were standing there watching my every move. They said it was a "financial" decision - but I call bullshit on that excuse, I was the lowest paid employee in HR, **** for that matter in almost the whole company. I haven't been right ever since. Just recently, I got a few calls for interviews with employment agencies, but nothing else...I hear that the economy is getting better on the news, but I sure dont see it.
