I think we all make life harder on ourselves than we need to be. Anorexics actually derive some form of clarity and self-control from not eating, but it has an addictive quality. Learn as much as you can about anorexia.

Remember that the negative self-talk is happening. Behind your mind, there's the real you, a powerful entity. Sometimes we drown out the part of ourselves that solves problems....Be aware that there is negative self-talk occuring and that you can be aware of these thoughts without following them. Part of anorexia is people being very hard on themselves. Anorexics are in some respects very strong, but too strong. They are the ones who don't cry at funerals, who have everything under-control, and are demanding and harsh with themselves. And the isolation factor makes anorexics feel alone, that they are going it alone.

It's not that easy and it comes on often during the teen years. It's not like a cookie you can just throw out, indeed. So many of us have battled diseases, addictions and dependencies. Just remember you are not alone with this problem and that there are many many great support groups and clinicians/therapists/doctors/nurses who have helped so many people with this problem.

The shakes might be low-blood sugar but would also want to rule out dietary deficiencies as well as any other problems caused by insufficient and/or irregular food intake. How smart of you to reach out! though there are other sites and people who are professionals in this area. If you can find one in your area, see someone who specializes in this disease. If you feel you can, be open with your family or with some adult family member where you feel safe. You need support too. Dealing with the problem now is a very smart move on your part. Many women and men are helped with this problem and go on to lead happy healthy lives.

I've had experiance with addiction(mine& helping others)
Often Setting goals that will take you in a completly differant direction will "Fix" the problem& get you to stop thinking about the addiction!
Think about a completly differant type of goal that to achieve would spoil your currant addiction!
PS: people who "Can't" put down that cookie have it just as tough as YOU!!!

I know they do. so do those who feel the need to purge. & everyone else who deals with some sort of eating disorder. Setting another goal is alot easier said than done. this isnt a goal anymore. this is the anorexia taking me over. If i could stop that this second i would

If something is TOO easy-Chances are it isn't worth much!
Folks here have mentioned Proffessional help-
If your not going to do that-
      Try another way-
I'm shure there are folks who tell you YOU CAN'T do it yourself-
      Get stuboron& Prove them WRONG!

You have the time, but a professional can help you with this better than I can. There's no shame in what you are going through. A professional can give you great techniques for learning how to deal with this problem. And learning about it, what makes it happen. Some people have been helped with medication. Being a teenager is a challenge but start working on the problem now. You have a great life ahead of you. Be easy and forgiving of yourself.
