HI Folks! I just wanted to add my two-cents to this thread. I'm Wiccan. I believe in it's power and majick with all my heart and soul. I have been studying the "Craft" for over 13 years now. I was born and raised and confirmed Catholic. My father never knew of my conversion while he was alive. My mother does know. She thinks we are devil worshippers or that I joined a cult. LOL I am involved with an Order that is training me to be a Wiccan High Priestess. I have several years to go before my ordination. By the way, I'm trangendered, MtoF.

Wicca, or any of the "old religions" for that matter, require one thing. If it's in your heart, it WILL work. If your intentions are true to the Rede in ALL aspects, your majick will manifest into reality. You really don't need anything else other than to know how to call the protection of the corners and there is no set procedure for that. It's what you feel is right. Again, if it's in your heart, it will work. You do however, need to comple any staples for your spells and talismans, or whatever you wish to create.

Yes, we all look for a set of defined instructions. A set procedure and a set of rules that work. Folks, there ISN'T any. Groups and covens DO have set rules but that's so their members are uniform. Any organization has that. If you are solitare, as I am, that isn't necessary. That's what you Book of Shadows is all about. It's documentation for what works for you. It's also a personal journal of your journey through the Craft. I like to use my computer to write my BofS. I can edit and delete and add without messing up one of those really fancy leather-bound books with my misspellings and cross-outs. I can add and delete and print out what really works to keep in a fancy binder.

Read my story here. I'm new, so I can't tell you how to find it. I posted it under my screen name as Gaylecd1

Becoming Wiccan is somewhat a test of ego. I always thought I was a strict atheist...it never occured to me some beliefs and interests I had were actually Wiccan. Well, I never actively strived to be atheist but, I really didnt like Catholic or Christian religions and the beliefs they had - and they are really the only religions you hear about.

When I studied up on Wicca, and I loved it, but I was alone in my conversion and freaked out a bit - what if I get it wrong? What if people hate me or laugh at me? Pfft. Like I care now, haha, I have a great group of people that I meet up with once a month that are different branches of Pagan religions and I love it. I cant imagine my life without my religion.

Good for you, I hope it works out for you =]

MM, I won't claim to understand your situation, for my parents are still with me. But I do get that feeling of finally jumping in with both feet. I have always felt Pagan, and then been drawn to Wiccan, but I finally took the leap recently and have been actively studying it for a good year or so now. I'm very glad I tok the leap, too! I'm glad you have found something that really feels right. I hope you will continue to feel right, and I hope you can continue to have faith. BB

Wow, do I know where you are coming from! I grew up in a family with a mother that I considered agnostic and a father that was an aetheist. They were very open with the fact that they didn't have all the answers but they also didn't really encourage anything but the study of other ideas. Now that I'm an adult finding my own way and consider myself wiccan I find that my parents have evolved too. My father is now studing bhuddist philosophy and my mother admitted to me last year that she sees auras sometimes. I find that walking my own path isn't exactly easier but at least I have the perspective now to realize that we all must walk our own path but that also sometimes our paths bring people and things into our lives that we couldn't have hoped for. I hope that the Godess brings you some one to help you get your bearings again and let you be the person that you want to be!! Blessed be!
