I Am Writing A Story
We arrived at the school with about a half hour to spare. We carefully made our way over to Madison's locker, with me scoping it out, since Tex needs to be a secret admirer; for now, anyway. Eventually, we went around the school, and finally around the last corner, was Madison's locker. Fortunately, no one was around, and Tex hurriedly put all of the stuff in her locker after I unlocked the lock. (We had to share lockers once that year, since mine needed severe repair, and she hadn't changed the lock). Once it was set in there, we high-tailed it out of there.
I waited around the corner for about ten minutes and went to my locker, which is right next to Madison's. As I'm gathering my books, I look at the digital wall clock I set inside my locker. 8:57:57. Madison will be coming in, I thought, in three...two...one... "Alice!" a voice calls. Zero, I finish my thought as I turn around. "Hey, Madison," I say and give her a smile, "Two minutes before school starts, as usual." I pretend to scrounge around for somethiing in my locker as I wait for her to open hers. I hear a gasp and I smile to myself for a split second.
Even though I know exactly what she was surprised about, I asked, "What is it?" The smile is wiped off my face so I can be surprised, too. "Oh my gosh!" Madison exclaimed, "It's flowers! I wonder who they're from." I point to the note on the ground and say, "There's a note. Maybe it tells us who sent them?" She nods and picks up the note. As she's reading it, I smile on the inside, knowing exactly what is on it. "Oh my gosh! You will never guess who it's from!" Well, I thought, time to play dumb. "Jerry from AP Calc?" I ask.
"Nope."
"Sam from AP Bio?"
"Uh-uh."
"Ty from gym?"
Giggling, "Nope!"
"Then who?!"
"Okay, you know how I've had a crush on your brother for, like, ever?"
"Oh my gosh, it's him, isn't it?!"
She nods, "Look!"
I grab the note from her, and look confused as I say, "But it says anonymous. How do you know it's him?"
"Yeah, but Tex is the only guy I know who dots his i's with diamonds."
Dang it, Tex! I thought, I should've reminded him. Oh, well. Guess little sis has to mend her plans, now, doesn't she?
She starts jittering and jumping up and down, barely able to contain her excitement. All of a sudden she stops, face looking solemn. I **** my head to the side in confusion. "What's wrong?" I asked.
"What do I do?!"
"What do you mean?"
"Like, what do I do to tell him I like him, too?"
A smile came to my face, "I have a plan."
"Shoot."
