Those Who Deserve To See

Throughout history, men have been the breadwinners and protectors, while women have been the homemakers and caregivers. Men have been scoffed for the show of tears, as it was believed to show weakness.
That being said, this is the 21rst century. Women are not just the homemakers and caregivers. Men and women share both roles in most situations. My battle buddy in Iraq was .... a female Sgt. in an infantry company. A test run for women in combat. She was young, turned 21 in Baghdad, sexy, and tough as nails. I learned alot about women from that young lady. Yes, she saw my tears. Yes, my team saw my tears. Yes, my squad leader saw my tears.

There are those who deserve to see your tears. There are those who don't.

It is the same for men and women today. Kim didn't cry in front of just any soldier. Neither did I.

Tears of joy, sorrow, saddness and disgust are earned. I do cry. My children and my wife have seen my tears. I am no less a man in their eyes.
