Everyone Deserves Happiness

An aquaintance of my best friend is gay.  I found out when we were working on a movie together.  He is one of the kindest, funniest, most talented individuals I've ever known.  Whenever he's in a room, everything brightens and you can't help but smile at his good humor.

He is "married" to another man.  But there are thousands of gay couples out there that don't have the same kind of happiness thanks to all those bible-thumping bigots out there.

I hate it when people use quotes from such an important book to say that someone is less than everyone else.  What's worse is when they use fear tactics like gay marriage being taught in school to manipulate people to vote for discrimintory policies.

These pathetic lies influenced the voters in California and Maine to turn against their fellow citizens.  We can't let that happen elsewhere in the country.  One day people will need to realize that homosexuals like my firend are people too and they will be given equal rights.

Isn't that what it says on the Declaration of Independence? That everyone is equal and we have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?
