I choice to avoid family since my father abandon and put me in a foster home at age 15. Family is not willing to help me when i almost lost everything in my life as I had trouble finding a job. And family just want to take advantage for me. Despite I almost lost everything in my life, I finally found a job and slowly getting my life in order. then when family learns I get a job, everyone in my family that didn't help me before wants money from me. I had enough of them. they only care about them self.

    You're doing the right thing (Supposing all you said is true). If they didn't help you, you have the free choice of not helping them. They must understand you're the owner of your life (and, of course, your money).

    In the other hand, friends are the family you choose, so choose wisely.

    Remember, despite there are a lot of scumbags around, it doesn´t mean everyone is a scumbag. You must teach yourself to search for the right kind of people.
