Never Edit Who You Are!

"To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man." ~~ William Shakespeare

I'm a huge fan of the American comedy "Sex and the City" (SATC) and I've watched the series several times over.

I was very surprised to see that they were now showing the re-runs early in the evening as I would have thought because of the sex scenes and language, they would only show them after the watershed. I figured the TV company were showing the comedy early to attract a larger audience. Out of curiosity I watched a couple of episodes and was very disappointed as they'd edited the sex scenes and language.

I believe it's the sex contents and sex scenes that make SATC so witty and quirky. Without those scenes, there's no passion, no fire, no life. It's just another ordinary comedy.

For me, the sex scenes and sex contents in SATC represent what makes each of us unique; what makes each individual quirky or "weird" as a friend calls me. Editing that part of me is the equivalent of changing myself so others will like me. Then I'm not being true to myself. As long as I love me the way I am, my true friends will always love and accept me as I am. As Carrie Bradshaw, one of the characters of SATC, puts it:

"And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous."

Don't edit yourself to make others happy! Be yourself and you are always loved as you are!
