One Way To Deal With Depression

Depression is passive emotion which, I believe, results from suppressing a more active emotion. If one can just feel that active emotion underneath the depression, then one will feel a weight off one's shoulders because the active emotion doesn't paralyze one in the same way as the depression. The way I have found to feel the emotion underneath the depression is to do a very particular kind of meditation. First as a warm up exercise, become aware of your hand. Can you feel the energy in your hand? All you now have to do is become aware of your chest, which is where many emotion reside, and see what energies and emotions come up. I felt some depression coming on this morning and right away I felt the energies in my chest and there was something there. Once I felt that, the depression was thwarted.
