~ The Ghost within my Heart ~

Within my heart
There lingers there
A ghost who haunts my soul
That wanders there
And breaks my will
No matter where I go.

Thou try I might
With all my steel
Built words and outer shell
It howls at night
My tears, it steals
And yet no one can tell

Of many days
I fight the ghost
Who tells me I will fail
Despite the ways
I try the most
I laugh at my own hell

No doctor notes
Can ever fix
The phantom in my head
They write and stare
And try to mix
The potion they call meds

Though prayer is right
And pray I must
But what I pray is new
For peace of mind
My heart will bust
For what I feel is due

To face the ghost
That walks and hides
Within my lonely heart
To catch the ghost
And walk with pride
Into a brand new start
Yet
Within my heart
There lingers still
A ghost that haunts my soul
That wanders there
And breaks my will
How much, no one will know…I wish the ghost would go.
