May Apple Trees

I live in northern New England, where it takes spring a painfully long time to arrive most years. It's easy to forget just how green the world becomes here after a long winter...
But it's greening up now, with all of the rain we've had of late. Today I stopped at an old abandoned apple orchard on my way home, having passed it by countless times in the past ten years. The trees don't flower much anymore, but they're gorgeous this time of year nonetheless. The warmth of the setting sun made for a scene worthy of photographing...
