The1960texan -- I do not hunt either. The only time in my life I tried hunting it was with a bow. I did have a shot and could have taken a deer, but it was a small Doe and I could not see taking her so did not take the shot. Had it been a large enough buck, I would have. I have no compunction against it, so long as I use the meat for food.

As for guns, I own a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, my wife owns the same make and model in a smaller lady's version, and we own a 12 gage shotgun. These weapons are not for hunting, but for target shooting and for self-protection.

I have been giving a great deal of thought to purchasing a weapon to use in the event of a usurperous takeover of our Government. Were I to do so, it would not be a semi-automatic .223 caliber (5.56 mm NATO) AR-15. In my opinion, civilian users of such a weapon against Federal troops or agents would be "cannon-fodder." I personally would opt to my strength as an extremely accurate and capable distance shooter by buying a .308 caliber (7.62 mm NATO) bolt-action scoped rifle with a tripod. I was about to buy one when I temporarily lost my income.

As a military trained, conservative, responsible citizen, I never would use any weapon to commit a crime. At 61 years of age, I do not drink, I barely even speed, and if I were to use any illegal substance it would be purely in the privacy of my home. I am not a "lawbreaker." What I am however, is a man who swore a sacred oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic." If the need ever arises, I will put my life on the line again to do so. That includes upholding the First, Second, and all subsequent Amendments to the Constitution. At the moment, I fear more the domestic threats to our constitution than I do foreign threats. I never thought that would be the case until the last few years.

We need to start defending our nation against Odumbo and tyranny. Just saying.
