Wow your fairies from what I am reading sound a little more humanoid looking than the ones I have seen. They general do not seem to like humans talking about them too much or least the ones I have spoken too. Yours just might be a different breed of fairy though different region and all that. I was almost wondering if it wasn't a pixie but blew that out of the water with how tall you said it was. Yeah a lot of people are afraid to talk about this stuff which I totally understand! They all think your crazy but that is how a lot of humans are. Sense for the most part humans stop practicing magic on this plane of existence, I mean there is still druids and witches which DOES help a lot... but not enough of them to make the land into a magical capacitor like it once was. So it is harder for magical beings to come here and stay for a period of time. However there still is magical "hot spots" here and there on this plane. Could have been near a door to their plane or a different one or just the state or country might be a little more magical. Here in Kentucky the nights are darker than they should, as Virginia, and Tennessee. And then visiting other states such as Georgia, Florida... you can just "feel" the difference there was like NO magic at all!

But thank you for sharing your story! You are NOT the only one who has seen them or even interacted with them. Though sounds like it is mostly you had only seen them =^_^=

I don't have any fairy experiences to share. But if you like fairies, I know this great book coming out on Halloween. CODENAME FAIRY GODMOTHER: REASSIGNED. For more info, go to www.TanjlisaMarie.com

My friend and I saw a fairy once a few years ago. I did not know she had seen it too until she tried to tell me about it later. I didn't describe what it had looked like or anything because I wanted to be sure we both saw the same thing and we had. He, for it was definitely male, was about 6 or 7 inches tall and he had on a green tunic, but his skin was green as well. He flew the same way as you described. No one ever believes me when I tell this story so it's great that other people believe in fairies too.

Good idea, Joey, but I think they already have their own house. That particular cedar grove is really magical and has lots of burrows and tunnels and caves formed by twisty tree roots and stones and the river bank. Wild white violets and orchids grow there in the shade, and hummingbirds, flickers and even an eagle nest there, and wild swans and every kind of duck go drifting by on the water. Perfect place for fairies!

Things like these DO exist, but they don't look like Fairies in their true form, they just appear to you as fairies. And if you are interested in such 'paranormal' stuff I would recommend you to read the book about such stuff(don't know english name) by Werner Keller.

I love this story... and I wish that I too can one day experience such a pleasant creature. I have a tatoo of one and I am totally obsessed with them and mermaids.... I have no idea why I have always been this way.

    Nanseltar,

Fairystone State Park is located in Patrick County Virginia, about an hour's drive south of my hometown of Roanoke Va.

The legend is that Faerie and Nymphs were playing in the water when an Elf messenger came from far away to tell them about the crucifiction of Christ. They were so sad at this horrible death they cried and their tears turned into stone crosses. They are so beautiful! The scientific name for them is Staurolite ancient stones made in the creation of the Blue Ridge Mts. They appear to be cut and the Park is full of them. The Park itself is beautiful too, located in a rural area with cabins, campgrounds, the nearby lake and full of wildlife. I'd go today, but I now live in Arizona! that's why I wish I could fly. Anyway, thanks again for sharing your story and when you see them again let us know.

Thank you Edhelen. Where is Fairystone Lake (and park)? Sounds like a place I'd like to visit.

There are two worlds, the one of the five senses and the one beyond which we feel and sometimes see. I feel honored to read this story. Wish I could fly like that! As a child I lived near a place called Fairystone Lake (and Park) with intricate rock crosses that were said to be carved by the Faerie, and I believed then and I believe now.

i leave offerings outside. cake and cream, sometimes ale, or honey mead. it's never there the next day. whatever keeps them happy and my life fairly mischief free.
