Peace ! Shaanti !

I do not know why I am obsessed with PEACE.
I sometimes believe that it's a sign of me being overly self-centric !?
Does PEACE just mean peace of my mind? I do want everyone and everything in this universe to be at a state of PEACE !!

The word itself gives me a warm feeling of comfort in my chest !!
The chant of 'Shaanti' provides an instant feeling of relaxation at good or bad times.

No war. No unrest. No violence. No clash. Just PEACE :)

PEACE

@Andrea: We have two such faiths here that also propagate in the belief that all life forms should be respected and never harmed. But alas, not even belonging to such faiths is enough for these people to understand PEACE!
We have a lot of Buddhist monks living in the north of India and i respect buddhism for the pure and peaceful teachings :)

If everyone in the world was a Buddhist, there would be world peace.
We are forbidden to harm living beings. It is our first Precept.

:) Thats a touching story Chigeko :) Hope she has Shaanti wherever he is now :) I think the Japanese are brave to have survived and fought back after suffering so much in the war ! Thanks for sharing :)

A young Japanese girl, developed leukemia, from the effects of radiation caused by the bombing of Hiroshima; she wrote -

“I will write peace on your wings and you will fly all over the world”

“She was told, if she folded 1,000 paper cranes the gods would grant her wish, she wished to get well; She ended up folding 644 cranes before she died.”
