Heaven Was Bombarded. In 1969 when I was thirteen I woke up on morning for school with the worst headach I had ever had in my life. Momma let me stay home that day an it got worse as the day went by. I had never hurt like that before as all I had to do way move my little finger and it was like sombody was beating me to death with a hammer. Momma knew this was more then just a headache and called the doctor and explained what was going on and he said get him here NOW !! The doctor took me right in and within the minute's I was in an ambulance on my way to Holy Cross Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. The doctor said that I had Spinal Meningitis, it could be spread very easy and I was put in querentine and at first nobody was allowed to see me. Spinal Meningitis is very dangerous and can cause you to loose limb's of your body or death. Right off the bat mom and dad contacted our minister who also hit the phone and I was put on every prayer chain through out many church's. Mom and dad along with other family member's stood outside my room and prayed. Heaven was being bombarded in prayer.
The doctor ordered a spinal tap to draw fluid from my spine to confirm the memingitis and it came back possitive. Mom and dad were finally allowed in to see me but they had to get all dressed up like a doctor going into surgery so as not to catch it. All this time the prayer chain was growing and I could hear those standing outside the door holding a prayer meeting. It was getting late in the day and the doctor said that all they would be doing over night was to watch me and that a specialist would be there in the morning to look at me. Mom and dad were not allowed to stay in my room and since my brother and sister's were home alone the went on home for the night.
I did not get much sleep that night with the nurse's running in and out all night checking on me about every hour. The next morning when I woke up I was hungry since I had not had anything to eat the day before and soon realized somthing else also, my head didnot hurt. They brought me in a tray of liquid breakfast and I wanted nothing to do with it and the nurse's got a kick out of me telling them that I wanted a cheeseburger and french frie's. Soon momand dad and people from the church showed up and I got fussed at over the cheeseburger thing, I could not even go to the hospital without getting into trouble. Well I cant remember now what time that the doctor showed up but the first thing he did was have then draw more fluid out of my spine and send it off to the lab. I could still hear them outside my room praying while we waited for the result's. I guess it must have been about an hour later when the test result's came back, Negitive, 100% Negitive with no sign what so ever of the meningitis. Well while the doctor's were trying to figure out what happened I heard that prayer meeting out in the hall turn into praise the lord meeting. They brought my parent's in and tried to explain thing's, which they could'nt. My father stopped them and told them that you can choose to believe in what you want but that heaven has been bombarded around the clock with prayer's for my son and that God had not only heard the cry's of his children, he answered them.
The doctor's being doctor's would not admit that God had done what they didnot have the power to do, but had to admit that it was nothing that they did. I guess that was as close as you would get with them. They found no reason to hold me anylonger and released me to go home. I never had any more problem's after that. Now you can choose to believe as you choose but as for me, I am proof of the power of prayer. I am proof that when God's children bombard heaven with their cry's, that our heavenly father hear's those cry's. Even if had just been one person praying for me that day God would have heard. Yes I believe in the power of prayer and anytime the need show's up, I hit the prayer chain and heaven get's bombarded again. To this day I would have loved to been a little mouse in their break room to hear what those doctor's REALLY said in private about what happened.
